Cross Country

On August the 15th we had the big cross country. We walked to the Botanics in groups. We had to cross heaps of roads. The whole school was there. We lined up in our age groups and the five year olds went first. The six year old girls and boys went second. First the girls went then the boys. Before the race I felt nervous. I thought I had butterflies in my tummy. I felt good when I was running because I ran the whole way. After the race I felt exhausted. I wished I could go to sleep for two days. The best part was seeing my dad there. I didn’t think he would be there because my brother goes to kindy until lunchtime. It was nice to have him there. I hope we can do it again!

Last week we had our cross country at the Botanics Park. We had to line up in our age groups. I ran with the 6 year old girls. I liked running and cheering for my friends.

Cross Country

On Wednesday the 15th of August 2007 we had our cross country. It was at the beautiful Botanics by the playground. We walked in a big long line, a boys line and a girls line. There were lots of parents and kids. I felt excited because I thought I might win. It was fabulous because I came 7th. I felt proud after the race. The best part was when I came 7th. I wish I could do it every day.

On Wednesday we went to the cross country. It was at the Botanics. We walked there with our dads. The whole school was there. Before the race I felt nervous because I thought I was going to lose. During the race it was exciting because I was not going to lose. After the race I felt sore because I had a sore tummy. The best part was the race because I was doing very well. I would like to do it again.

On 15th of August Nelson Central School had their cross country. We had our cross country at the Centre of New Zealand. We walked there by foot. I felt nervous before the race. After the race I felt proud of myself because I bet a lot of people. It was cool. The best part was when I did the race because I like running. It was a nice sunny day.

On Wednesday 15th of August we had our cross country. It was at the Botanics Park. The class walked in two lines. My dad came. The whole school was there. Before the race I felt really nervous because I thought I was going to come last. When I was running I felt like I was going to come first. It was hard. After the race I felt happy because I did my best. The best part was when I went to the finish line because I came fifteenth. It was a great day and I hope we do it again.

Cross Country

On 15th of August 2007 Nelson Central School had the cross country at the Botanics. The whole class went in a straight line. All of the school took part in it. Before the race I felt very nervous because I thought I was going to be last but I didn’t, I came second in my age group. In the ‘Open’ I came 8th. It felt easy when I started to run really fast. I felt really exhausted because it was hard work when I came 8th in the ‘Open’. I would have loved to do it again the next day.
